Wolverhampton Halfpenny Green Airport’s management team is delighted to share that our brand new 24 hour live webcam has launched on our website – and it’s better than before!
Offering real‑time visual access to the airfield alongside the airport’s existing live weather feed, the new webcam marks a significant enhancement for pilots seeking accurate, immediate situational awareness before flying.
The high‑definition 360‑degree camera is mounted adjacent to the control tower and provides a continuous panoramic view across the airport’s well‑known triangle area, located between the three runways and home to the main windsock. This vantage point allows users to observe ground movements, general airfield activity day and night and for pilots to view live weather conditions.
While the webcam’s default position overlooks the triangle, it can be remotely rotated to face different locations upon request. Day‑to‑day camera control is managed by the Operations Manager and Duty Manager, but pilots may request temporary camera adjustments by contacting Air Traffic Services by emailing atc@wolverhamptonairport.co.uk. Requests remain subject to operational conditions, and movements will only be made when appropriate.
Having the webcam with real‑time (unofficial) meteorological data on the same page gives pilots an immediate snapshot of current conditions, helping support safer and more informed decision-making.
This launch reflects the airport’s ongoing commitment to enhancing pilot safety and modernisation of facilities.
